Installation Guide

Step 1 – Surface preparation & marking out
Remove any loose paint or plaster, and repair any flaking surfaces. Dust down the prepared surface and remove any grease or dirt. Seal the surface with a suitable primer. Mark out level lines using a spirit level on the blank wall surface.

Step 2 – Adhesive

Mix your tile adhesive to the desired consistency applying the adhesive to the surface at a depth of 3-4mm to an area you can cover quickly.

Setaflex rapid setting tile adhesive

A flexible, fast setting, cement based tile adhesive that has a smooth buttery consistency when simply mixed with water. Setaflex tile adhesive is used primarily onto substrates with limited movement such as underfloor heating, plywood and plaster dry lining.

Step 3 – Fitting the Reclaimed Brick-Tiles™
From the bottom upwards, stick your brick tiles to the desired surface, cutting in where necessary. Stick your second course, using your desired bond pattern and using spacers between courses. Complete the works whilst the adhesive is still workable.

Step 4 – Matt finish sealer

Once all the tiling is complete ensure the tiles are clean and dry then apply the first coat of matt finish sealer to protect the surface of the brick-tile before the grout is applied.

Step 5 – Grout
Use a rubber float. Fill joints flush with tile surface, re-grout if necessary. Allow the grout to firm up in the joint (until it is resistant to thumb pressure) and scrape off excess grout with a slightly damp sponge. After drying remove the remaining grout film with a damp sponge.

Step 6 – Matt finish sealer

When all the grouting is completed, brush the whole wall to remove any loose deposits. Ensure surface is clean and dry then apply the final coat of matt finish sealer.
