In 2012 to coincide with the London Olympic games, the sportswear brand New Balance took over the 28th floor of London’s Millbank Tower to create an experience centre. This event space was New Balance’s hospitality hotspot over the Olympic season.
They wanted to achieve the look of an artist’s loft warehouse apartment. The space was filled with nods to New Balance’s historic shoe-making heritage and featured reclaimed flooring from a Scottish gymnasium and our Reclaimed Barnstock brick slips to create an authentic exposed brick look.
To add to the authenticity of the project, the installers used a messy mortar joint and created patches of artwork by pressing a stencilled design into the surface mortar.
After the Olympic season had ended the event space was renamed Sky Loft and is now available for private hire and can accomodate upto 550 guests.
