Stacey’s home is one of our Instagram favourites. For her kitchen project we supplied our reclaimed barnstock brick slips to match an original brick chimney breast that had been exposed.
Paired with a deep blue shaker style kitchen from Howdens, the brickwork looks just as good as the original chimney breast. The whole kitchen diner has a great industrial feel with vintage lighting, brown leather dining chairs and oak wood throughout.
Stacey had these kind words to say about the project…
“We bought our Victorian home in July 2019, and the potential of the kitchen diner had been a big selling point for us. The space was obvious, but was clearly wasted and lacked any character, as the previous owners had installed a small ‘L’ shaped kitchen with zero storage or workspace.
The kitchen renovation was the first big job we undertook and it has totally transformed not only the room but the feel of the house, as a family of 5 the kitchen is the heart of our home!
We initially exposed the brick on the chimney breast which added such warmth and original character to the room. It was important to us to achieve a genuine look and feel of an original brick wall for behind the cooker and so we got in touch with Reclaimed Brick Tile, who sent a few samples of their brick slips and found a perfect match in their Barnstock range. Our builder installed the brick slips using mortar for a more authentic look and it matches the original chimney brick perfectly. We love it!”
The Reclaimed Barnstock are the perfect choice for Victorian era properties as they are made from a reclaimed wirecut brick that was commonly used in building houses during this period.
