General Questions

Find a quick answer to some of our most common general brick slip questions?

Brick slips are tiles cut from clay bricks. Our brick slips are cut to a thickness of 20mm. They can be used to create an exposed brick effect wall and give the appearance of real bricks.

To cover 1 square metre you will need 60 brick slips.

Our brick slips are available in 1/2 square metre boxes of 30 brick slips per box.

If you are unsure of how many you require, why not try our coverage calculator or get in touch with our team who are ready to help out.

Our reclaimed brick slips are cut from original reclaimed bricks mostly sourced from demolition projects around the North West of England. For more details on the reclamation process take a look at our Reclaimed Bricks page.

Our handmade bricks come from a number of brick suppliers mostly imported from Europe and are cut into slips at our Manchester factory.

The nature of reclaimed and handmade bricks means that each brick is individual. This includes slight differences in colour, texture and size.

Each order is processed from the same batch of bricks but batches do vary from time to time.

Yes, brick slips can be used in a fireplace.

Fireplaces and wood burning stoves are one of the most popular uses for brick slips and we supply a large number of fireplace installers.

Our brick slips and installation products are heat and fire resistant, making them perfect for use in fireplaces.

Yes, brick slips can be used externally.

We have supplied many projects where brick slips have been used ranging from decorative garden walls to full on reskinning houses.

Brick slips are perfect for using outside. The only area we would not recommend using them is on the floor externally. They can be used as flooring internally but when used outside, they are likely to experience frost damage during the winter weather.

Yes, brick slips can be used in bathrooms.

We do recommend sealing the brick slips after installation to help protect them from water splashes.

Delivery Questions

Have you got some concerns about delivery of a potential order? Here are some questions and answers to help you out

We aim to dispatch orders within a few days of the order being placed.

At times of high demand we may need to cut the bricks to order. This process normally takes a couple of days depending on the size of the order. If it is expected to be longer than this our team will let you know.

Once orders are completed, they are dispatched on a 2-3 day delivery service.

For full details of our delivery service, head to our Delivery page for more details

We have negotiated the cheapest prices available with our delivery partners.

Delivery costs vary based on your postcode and the weight of your order.

All of our orders are dispatched on a pallet delivery service to ensure there are minimal breakages on arrival.

Brick slips are a fragile product that, if not handled correctly on delivery can break easily.

We would recommend that someone is available to sign for your delivery, however upon request the delivery drivers are able to leave your order unattended if there is a safe place to do so.

This can only be done if they have a safe place that is accessible for a pallet delivery (such as a driveway, front garden).

If you don't have a safe place to leave the order, the driver would not be able to leave it unattended and will require a signature. If this is an issue for you, please let our team know and we will be able to make arrangements.

We'd say it's better to over order than under order. Nobody wants to come to the end of fitting their brick slips and find they are just a few short.

We always recommend to add an extra 5% to your order to account for wastage.

If you do find you have over ordered and would like to return the extras you have. Get in touch with our team who will be happy to help out.

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may return it to us for a full refund or an exchange.

For more details please take a look at our Refund & Returns policy.
