Over the past few years, brick slips have become one of the most popular interior design trends with many homeowners using them to create an exposed brick look in their homes, but what are brick slips?
What Are Brick Slips? #
Brick slips are tiles cut from real clay bricks that have the appearance of a real brick. When fitted to a wall they look as if it is an original exposed brick wall.
Our brick slips are cut to a thickness of 20mm. They are a quick and cost-effective way to create the appearance of a real brick wall. Brick slips can be installed to most wall surfaces, both internally and externally to instantly create an exposed brick effect.

Reclaimed Brick-Tile, the reclaimed brick slip specialists #
Here at Reclaimed Brick-Tile, we specialise in original reclaimed brick slips, cut from real reclaimed bricks and also newer handmade brick slips, made from handmade bricks. These are available in a range of original and contemporary colours.
Reclaimed Brick Slips #
The reclaimed bricks we cut our brick slips from come from demolition projects such as old factories and mills. Some of these bricks date back to the 1800s. This gives our reclaimed brick slips an aged character that can not be replicated with a new brick slip.
Our customers come to us for our reclaimed brick slips because of how authentic and real they look. If you are trying to create the look of a real exposed brick wall, it’s always best to use original reclaimed bricks that have years of character and weathering.
If you are looking for that reclaimed brick look, check out our most popular brick slip, the Reclaimed Barnstock. This particular brick slip is perfect for creating an industrial look and feel.

Handmade Brick Slips #
Alongside our reclaimed brick slips we also offer handmade brick slips which are cut from newer handmade bricks. This handmade production process means that they have an individual look and feel that is close to that of reclaimed bricks. We decided to add these handmade bricks to add more choice in colour to our range of brick slips.
All of the brick slips in our range are cut and processed here at our Manchester factory by our expert team of brick cutters using state of the art industrial cutting saws. We do not import brick slips from overseas as we like to be in control of the production quality of our finished product.

Manufactured Brick Slips #
You may find other brick slips on the market that are a ‘manufactured brick slip’. This means that they are produced as a brick slip rather than being cut from a real brick. In most cases these are made in moulds that replicate the look of a brick and are created from a range of materials such as concrete, clay or even plaster.
Manufactured brick slips will always be a cheaper option but they do lack behind when compared to the look and feel of a real brick slip. If you are considering this type of brick slip, we would highly recommend ordering some samples and comparing them to real brick slips.
Corners and more #
Along with regular flat brick slips, we also offer corner brick slips, headers and reveals that can be used when you need to go round a corner, above a door or window or when you are looking to add a more specific brick bond pattern to bring more detail to your project.

Now that you know what brick slips are and may be thinking of where you could add an exposed brick feature wall in your home, why not head over to our brick slips case studies to see the amazing looks some of our customers have achieved.
